Whispering Winds Master Plan

Whispering Winds Master Plan
Welcome to Whispering Winds Catholic Camp and Conference Center, a 161-acre camp founded in 1978. The Cedar fire in 2003 destroyed 50% of the facilities at the camp made it necessary to rebuild. The updated master plan was a collaboration with architect Tony Mansour. The location and facilities of Whispering Winds appeal to a variety of groups: from youth to corporate to secular organizations. Specialty programming includes youth retreats, family camps, special needs camps, military family camps and youth orchestra retreats. Since the rebuild from the Cedar fire, the camp has grown from an average of 4,000 guests a year to over 11,000 coming from throughout Southern California and as far as Arizona to host their special events at the camp.
New Facilities from Master Plan:
- 2008: Mary’s Grotto
- 2009: Pool
- 2011: Founders Hall + Prayer Chapel
- 2012: Kitchen/Dining Hall
- 2017: Shepherds Hall
- 2017: Welcome Center + Camp Offices
- 2019: Disciples Lodge
This project was designed and/or managed by one of the partners while at Integration Design Studio.
